ManpowerGroup Austria, the Austrian subsidiary of the worldwide workforce solutions ManpowerGroup, is one of the country‘s top three service providers for recruiting and personnel staffing. In this extremely dynamic field, Manpower Austria alone closes nearly 7,000 contracts per year and places over 3,000 employees a month.

Wanted: a flexible tool for analysis and forecasting

Even before their move to Jedox, the ManpowerGroup had a reporting system for analyzing company data, of course. But in an age of increasing globalization, dynamism, and operational speed, the old system simply could not keep up. The ManpowerGroup needed a solution that was able to quickly and flexibly evaluate data and create forecasts at the drop of a hat.

Data quality and efficiency were also significant factors: in the old system, individual branch offices emailed headquarters manually collated Excel sheets, which were then fed into corporate HQ‘s software – the inevitable human and computer errors took hours of work to fix. And the resulting forecasts and data were not even detailed enough to support the desired target/actual omparisons on the level of the individual client.

The solution: intuitive self-service software for Business Intelligence

Manpower‘s new forecasting solution is based on the power of Jedox, and the company could not be happier.

Kummer and her team use Jedox to create the annual budget, various scenarios, monthly forecasts, and ad-hoc reports. They are only some of the approximately 35 employees throughout the ManpowerGroup‘s headquarters and subsidiaries who use the software. And after initial support from it-novum, they find that creating forecasts has never been easier. Branch offices simply input their data via the intuitive web interface, and superiors can double-check and sign off on the figures. As soon as the data are confirmed, the financial team in corporate headquarters is notified and can use the data to evaluate performance or plan strategy.

ManpowerGroup also chose to implement a multi-step confirmation process, so as to increase identification of the individual branch offices and business units with the planning process. Likewise, it-novum was able to rapidly respond to the differing requirements within the organization. For example, key figures can be quickly structured in different views, suited to sales, marketing, or accounting – perfectly reflecting the different approaches of meetings within departments.

Going forward

Not only will the ManpowerGroup expand Jedox reporting throughout the company, but they intend to give management on-the-go access to company data, using tools such as the Jedox App. This allows branch offices and management to have the latest data at their fingertips, makings decisions with the best possible information, anytime, anywhere.
